MEET OUR TEAM (AND OUR AMAZING BOARD OF DIRECTORS)

These are a few of the passionate picklers that keep the Club moving - and growing. The Santa Cruz Pickleball Club started small - just a few scores of folks who liked to play a ridiculously named past time. Today, our Club is one of the premier pickleball societies in Northern California.

A LITTLE ABOUT OUR CLUB...

Our journey began in 2013 with a half dozen enthusiastic pickleball players who started playing pickleball at Louden Center. As player numbers increased it became clear that more courts were needed. A "Steering Committee" was formed and a vision born. The Steering Committee, along with other dedicated volunteers, have advanced play by getting courts lined in various local venues and by training hundreds of new players. On 8/20/17 four permanent courts were dedicated at Brommer Street Park. In 2018, over a course of 81 days of play, 3,272 players were tallied.  In June 2019 "The Santa Cruz Pickleball Club, Inc." was introduced as a 501(c)(3) non-profit club and it's Board of Directors opened membership. Since then, the Club has seen a more-than-large influx of new players of all skill levels. The popularity of pickleball continues to sore to new heights. And the future is bright for all - new and old - pickleballers in our beautiful seaside community.

MEET A FEW OF OUR AMAZING AND TALENTED MEMBERS

Here are some profiles and short bios of some of our most-passionate members. These are the folks who show up to Club days religiously, and do battle on the pickleball courts with style, grace, and beauty. Nope, not all of those snapshots describe"pro-level" players. Some of our members have just recently caught the pickleball bug - and like many - got hooked on the game. Our members vary in skill-level from the 2.5 newbie, to the 4.5 tournament-playing king-of-the-court. Meet them below.
